Team India Loses The 3rd T20 Vs England; Rohit Sharma’s Winning Streak Ends

England finally came better against Team India in the 3rd T20I in this series. The home side already lost the series before coming into this match at Nottingham. Jos Buttler’s team were playing for pride in this game and they post a mammoth total on the board batting first. Nottingham pitch is always known for high scoring matches and this was no different. Jos Buttler gave the home side a fast start but went back to the pavilion after scoring only 18 off 9.

Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone’s fiery 84 run stand helped the English side post 215. Coming on to chase India lost their top order very quickly in between the powerplay overs and went 31/3. The stage was set for Suryakumar Yadav to showcase his ability and it was a complete 360 degree batting masterclass from him. Sky scored his maiden T20I ton and almost took India over the line single handedly. But it was too much to ask from him chasing 215 when there were no support from the other end. Deepak Hooda, not getting the chances he deserves

India made 4 changes to their line up after wrapping up the series last night but surprisingly the inform Deepak Hooda was not in there. Hooda scored a century against Ireland and was a crucial part in their first T20I win against England. Team management decided to give totally out of form Virat Kohli another chance, something he again wasted.

Kohli, Iyer and DK fail for Team India

Despite winning the series, there were constant poor performances from some of the team India batters including Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik. The two RCB boys were disappointing with the bat. DK was brought back into the side after his tremendous form in the IPL but in India colors he could not live up to the expectations. Kohli is currently hugely backed by captain Rohit Sharma after plenty of questions are raising towards the team management about keeping Kohli in the T20I squad.

“When someone is scoring consistently for so long, we can’t overlook his contribution if he is not scoring in one or two series or in one or two years. We know the importance of Virat Kohli. The experts have got all the right to talk about it but for us these things don’t matter,” Rohit Sharma said.

To add to that, Shreyas Iyer who was outsmarted in the one Test match that he played, he failed to deliver in this game too and was one of the reasons why Team India lost. Not just did he consume balls to make a slow start, but when the team needed him the most, he failed to deliver.

Malan and Livingstone destroy the bowling of Team India

England batters were completely dominated by Indian bowling in the previous two games where they got defeated by large margins. Malan and Livingstone saved the pride with eye catching innings at Nottingham to help England post a massive score on the board. Although both of them had their luck in their side as Kohli dropped Livingstone in the deep, and Harshal Patel dropped Malan off his own bowling. The left hander went on to score 77 off 39.

SKY 100 for Team India

Although it came for a losing cause, Suryakumar Yadav will remember this 100 for a long time as some fans will do. On a day where every Indian batter struggled to middle the ball, SKY played a blinder off a knock. His 117 off 55 balls was a treat to watch for the spectators.
