The Indian Premier League season (IPL 2023) is nearly done and the Gujarat Titans will face off against the Chennai Super Kings in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This season teams played home and away matches, though some sides had more than one home ground. Some of the franchises had new captains while others are keeping trust in the old ones.

A good captain can make or break a season for their teams for their leadership skills. Punjab Kings were captained by Shikhar Dhawan this year. Sunrisers Hyderabad have given captaincy to Aiden Markram. And two time champions Kolkata Knight Riders missed Shreyas Iyer, who was ruled out for an injury. Nitish Rana took charge and was leading them.

Mumbai Indians veteran skipper Rohit Sharma is their main pillar of strength. The Hitman has guided them 5 titles and earns 16 cr every season.

Chennai Super Kings tried Ravindra Jadeja as captain last year but things did not go as planned so MS Dhoni came back to lead the side. The 41 year old earns 16 cr.

Kolkata Knight Riders are missing their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer because of injury. Nitish Rana has been in the side for a few years now, is leading the side. Rana earns 8 cr.

Sunrisers Hyderabad released David Warner and turned to Aiden Markram for captaincy this year. The South African is also captaining his national side and was captured for 2.6 cr.

Rajasthan Royals had a terrific season under Sanju Samson who guided them to the final last year. This year wasn’t as great as the last. But, Samson still earns 14 cr per season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are still chasing their first IPL title and were captained by Faf Du Plessis. The South African has got enough IPL experience to help them win. Faf earns 7 cr.

Punjab Kings had a new skipper this season in opener Shikhar Dhawan. They captured his signature by paying 8.25 cr.

Delhi Capitals were without skipper Rishabh Pant who is out injured. David Warner, who is a IPL winning skipper, was leading them. He is currently earning 6.25 cr.

Gujarat Titans are the defending champions. They won the title last year on their debut season under home boy Hardik Pandya who was signed for 15 cr.

Lucknow Super Giants under the captaincy of KL Rahul looked a great side. Rahul earns 17 cr per season, though it was Krunal Pandya who had to step in after an injury forced Rahul out of the tournament.
