Pollard’s sensational 34-ball 87*
Nobody could expect to chase down 219 in the big tournament like IPL unless they are Mumbai Indians. We have witnessed a similar scenario in the past as well when they needed around 190 runs in 14.3 overs and they did that in style. A few days ago, MI were in a similar situation where they needed 219 against CSK to win the encounter. Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma gave their side a solid start but it was Kieron Pollard who took the whole responsibility to take their side across the line. He smashed 8 sixes and helped his side script one of the most memorable run-chases in the IPL.
RCB on a roll
This is rare but Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first four matches in this season to get the momentum they always needed. They beat MI, SRH, KKR, and RR to grab the attention of everyone from the beginning. They are sitting at the 3rd position in the point table and could easily make their way into the playoffs. Kohli and Co. just need 3 victories out of their 7 matches which won’t be that difficult keeping in the mind the form they are in.
‘Jadeja Show’ vs RCB
Can you imagine Jadeja hitting 37 runs in an over? This is unreal but the southpaw managed to do so against the top wicket-taker Harshal Patel a few days back. The first four deliveries went for sixes including one no-ball. The next three went for 12 runs including another six. Before this over, Patel gave away just 14 runs in his first three overs including three wickets. CSK comfortably won the game by 69 runs in the end.
Brar’s triple-treat against RCB
Getting three wickets in an IPL game is a big achievement but getting Kohli, de Villiers and Maxwell in the same game is just out of the box. Punjab Kings’ Harpreet Brar was on cloud nine when he managed to send back the top three players of RCB. He immediately put the game in Punjab’s favour and gave his team a phenomenal victory. He even scored 25* off 17 balls to set a decent total of 179 for his team.
