Battle of two coaches: Dravid’s XI vs Shastri’s XI

There have been very few instances when a team has played at two different venues at the same time. One such moment happened last month when the second-string Indian team went to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series. Though they couldn’t whitewash the hosts, every cricket fan was impressed with the way boys played. The actual reason for their success was none other than Rahul Dravid.

The team missed the services of legends like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli because they were in England for the five-match Test series. Today, we decided to analyze both the Indian teams. Here’s a look:

With Shikhar Dhawan the captain of the side, the team is filled with several young stars including Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey and Nitish Rana. They have all the capability to score quickly irrespective of the format. The all-rounders include Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Krishnappa Gowtham. The trio is the perfect timer of the cricket ball and can ball really well.

Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are the wicket keepers of the team and both of them are destructive as we all know. The bowling unit of this team is the most experienced one with the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini. They also have Deepak Chahar and Rahul Chahar who have impressed everyone in the IPL.

You know that you are always having an edge if you are having Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the same team. The team has the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane in the batting unit. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin are the top-notch all-rounders in the world. India’s rising star Rishabh Pant is the wicket-keeper of this team who can be dangerous on any track.

The bowling department has Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj who can just destroy the opposition with their sheer pace.

Conclusion:

With the big names already in Ravi Shastri’s XI, one can easily say that this team would win the competition but you never know with cricket as all the players from the second-string side have played international cricket for India. They can be too good on their day. Also, Dravid being their coach can be an advantage.

I call myself as one of the biggest Sachin Tendulkar fans in this world. Watched every single game when he played but was completely away from the sport for couple of months, when he hung up his boots in 2013. I believe that Cricket is an emotion and penning down my thoughts towards the game is what I'm known for. Cheers to life and Cricket..
