Rohit Sharma is now officially the captain of the Indian cricket team in the T20 internationals after Virat Kohli decided to step down after the disappointing end of his team at ICC World T20 last week. Even though Kohli’s captaincy record was overall good in international cricket but a major trophy was always missing in the cabinet. In the IPL as well, Kohli failed to deliver a trophy at Royal Challengers Bangalore as captain even after having one of the strongest teams on paper in the competition.

On the other side, there is no question about how successful captain Rohit Sharma has been in the IPL, where he has guided Mumbai Indians to win five trophies. Hitman started his journey as an official captain of the Indian cricket team with a win against New Zealand in Jaipur last night.

Rohit’s close friend and Mumbai Ranji Trophy team-mate, Abhishek Nayar, said that consistency was the newest India T20 captain’s mantra, Nayar told news18.com.
