The MI pacer put on his best show to pick up 5 wickets which forced KKR to a batting collapse. Knights however put 165 on the board. Coming on to chase, MI lost Rohit Sharma early. Apart from a fine half-century from Ishan Kishan, no MI batter could stand in front of the KKR bowling attack and in the end fell short by 52 runs. KKR has been one of the most unsettled sides of this year’s IPL. In this game, they brought in 5 players including their two retentions Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakraborthy. After coming into the team after a few games, Iyer played a quickfire 43 opening the batting, something the team required from him at the top. Rahane also played sensibly to give him support. Their 60 run opening stand helped to set the platform to get a competitive total.

Bumrah had a season to forget this year but against KKR, he had his tail up. Bumrah was brought back into the attack against Andre Russell and he did his job picking up the in-form Jamaican with a bouncer. He picked up four thereafter to finish his spell with 5/10 including a three-wicket maiden in the 18th over.
Cummins won the game for KKR against MI again
The Aussie pacer was dropped from the side after just 4 games, where he gave away a lot of runs from his spell. However, he came back strongly against MI again. In their first meet up this season, Cummins won the game for KKR by smashing a 15 ball half-century. This time he did it with the ball picking up 3 wickets in one over.
