Indian Premier League, the biggest entertainment of the year is back once again, and this time in less than five months. The last edition saw Mumbai Indians beating Delhi Capitals comfortably in the final and break their streak of winning in just odd years. Skipper Rohit Sharma lifted his fifth IPL trophy as a captain and Mumbai Indian became everyone’s nightmare once again. However, this time the story could be different with Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli having a bunch of stars to his squad.

This time RCB have the likes of Daniel Christian, Glenn Maxwell, and Kyle Jamieson who can prove their worth and help finish the long drought for the team bold. Besides, Kohli himself has to take some tough calls in order to set the best playing XI. There are some reasons why Rohit has been so successful in the IPL whereas Kohli hasn’t lift up to the expectations as a captain.

Changes in the line-up

Hitman is not known to experiment much with his team combination. He gives time to his players to come back in form and knows very well how to take the best advantage of a particular player. For example, Quinton de Kock was having a terrible tournament at the beginning of last year. He failed in the first 4-5 innings, still, the Mumbaikar put faith in him and the southpaw proved him right by scoring over 500 runs in the tournament.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, likes to change his team quite often. He gives couple of chances to his players and then likes to swap them with the ones who are on the bench. We all know he has the courage to take some tough decisions and maybe this is the year they are looking for, that can bring glory in their dressing room.

On-field attitude

While we all know that Rohit Sharma looks like more of a composed person on the field, VK on the other hand is always aggressive while captaining. Not having an IPL trophy would not make anyone an ordinary skipper, also a player like Virat Kohli is capable of winning any of the tournaments. Who knows if this year could bring the trophy to the Red and Black’s dressing room?
