Will Windies make a comeback into this game or England who are already bossing will dominate on day 3 as well?
Day 3 Analysis
West Indies started their proceedings on day 3 at 137-6 with Shane Dowrich and Jason Holder batting together. In the first hour England looked slightly flat as this partnership grew and were able to get boundaries of the bad ball. The Windies did make a mini comeback but it wasn’t enough as what followed afterwards was something you can expect in England with wickets falling quickly. Jason Holder was the first batsmen to get out for well made 46 runs as he got lbw to Stuart Broad delivery which came back in and Holder shuffled a lot towards off stump. A good partnership of 68 runs came to an end. Rahkeem Cornwall was gone for 10 as again Stuart Broad got the ball to come in and making the batsmen plumb in front. Kemar Roach got out for a duck as he pushed Stuart Broad s delivery towards covers and therefore edged it to Joe Root in the slips. Shane Dowrich was the last man to get out for 37 runs as Stuart Broad bowled a short delivery at his body and Dowrich wanted to pull it and therefore top edged it to mid on fielder Chris Woakes. All the 4 wickets were taken by Stuart Broad and he took 6 wickets in this innings;; what a test match he is having,62 runs with the bat and now this! West Indies got all out for 197 runs and England took a healthy lead of 172 runs. Dom Sibley and Rory Burns had to survive some overs before lunch and they did that and were 10-0 at lunch with a lead of 182 runs.
The second session was a struggle for Windies as the English openers looked pretty comfortable while negotiating their seamers and spinners. It was a typical traditional style batting as they didn’t lose any wicket but didn’t get too many runs. The session ended at 86-0 with a massive lead of 258 runs.
The third session after tea saw England batting with a lot more aggression probably looked to declare just before the proceedings. Rory Burns was able to sweep well against spinners. Dom Sibley was the first man to get out for 56 as Jason Holder bowled an in swinger and the ball kept low and hit his pads and was plumb in front. Joe Root came in at 3 and was batting with some aggression he wasn’t afraid to sweep the spinners and play a cut shot at the start of his innings. Probably the best of Root in this series and it couldn’t have come at the right time with England already dominating and probably have one hand on the trophy. He remained not out at 68 of just 56 balls as Rory Burns got out at 90 trying to sweep Roston Chase before top edging it to substitute keeper Joshua Da Silva. England declared at 226-2 and setting a target of 399 runs for the Windies. Windies got to a bad start as they lost John Campbell for a duck as Stuart Broad bowled an out swinger before Campbell edged it to Joe Root at slips. Kemar Roach came as a night watchman at 3 and he too got out to Stuart Broad for 4 as he pushed a delivery outside off stump which was meant to leave and Jos Butler took an easy catch. West Indies ended their days play at 10-2 with 389 more runs to get and Kraigg Braithwaite batting on 2 and Shai Hope, who has to come good and play responsibly, batting on 4 runs.
PREDICTION
If the weather remains good, we might get a result itself on day 4. Our prediction is West Indies to get all out for 180-200 runs and England to win this decider test and series 2-1 by 220-200 runs.
